Key Outputs
- High level of System operation knowledge for Drive train, Hydraulics & engines.
- Ability to perform planned and breakdown testing as to strict OEM standards on Caterpillar Earthmoving components
- Ability to ensure reusability of parts during inspection
- Compile accurate reports including Technical Reports
- Maintain professional image when representing BWE
- Ensure safe work practice
- Control Contamination
- Control own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)
- Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained.
- Adherence to all policies and procedures
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
- · Qualified in relevant trade (e.g. Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic/Fitter
- · 3 to 5 years Trade experience in Drivetrain and Engines assembly, or Test cell troubleshooting components
- · In depth knowledge on Drive train and Engines System Operations, testing procedures and trouble shooting
- Advanced trouble shooting, problem-solving skills and training
- Component specific technical knowledge and skills
- Advanced knowledge in the Caterpillar Service Information System – SIS
- Computer Literate (Use of Tablets and Apps, Outlook, Microsoft Office) knowledge
- Experience and training in parts inspection for reusability
- Basic technical report writing
- Failure analysis skills.
- Adherence to all Safety requirements, policies and procedures
- Understanding of warranty systems, policies & procedures
- Follows Quality processes
- Will be required to work overtime
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills
